Diamond SpasWater, held in metal

A husband and wife atelier in the Rocky Mountains that builds spas, pools and baths from stainless steel and copper, one commission at a time, for homes, hotels, rooftops and superyachts around the world.

The Story

It began with
a farmhouse chair.

As a child, Stephanie Bennett spent her visits to her grandparents’ farm in Colorado in a reclining chair that seemed to hold the body perfectly. Years later, living in a small Rocky Mountain town, she imagined a bathtub with the same body conforming shape and described it to Tom Bennett, a welder by trade.

A couple of weeks later they assembled the first stainless steel bath in Tom’s shop. In March 1996 they founded Diamond Spas as equal partners, and in time they married in the mountain town where they had met.

The Metals

Two metals.
No compromise.

Diamond Spas works only in stainless steel and copper. Metal will not fade, crack or blister like concrete, gunite or plastic, and it weighs less, which is why the house builds for rooftops and the decks of superyachts.

Since 1996

Stainless
steel

The metal the house was born with. Cool, clean and architectural, welded and hand buffed into spas, pools, plunge pools and baths of any size or shape.

Since 2000

Copper

Added to the atelier at the turn of the century. Warm, alive and changing with time, for soaking baths, spas and pools with the soul of an heirloom.

i

Lighter

Lighter than traditional pool and spa materials, so it can rise to a rooftop or sail on a yacht.

ii

Enduring

A lifetime warranty on the shell, and five years against surface defects.

iii

Gentler water

The house favours a chlorine free system of ultraviolet light and hydrogen peroxide.

iv

Recyclable

Spa shells are fully recyclable, and built from recycled sheet metal.

The Atelier

Drawn, welded,
polished by hand.

Every piece is made to order in Frederick, Colorado, by the house’s own engineers, welders and finishers.

I

The brief

The design team confirms dimensions, ambitions and the scope of the project, then prepares a formal estimate.

II

The drawing

Engineers prepare a 3D CAD drawing: perspective, dimensions, equipment and the placement of every jet.

III

The refinement

The client marks up the drawing and returns it, again and again, until it is exactly right. Only then does fabrication begin.

IV

The weld

Every product is TIG welded by the in house welding team.

V

The test

Each spa or pool is shop tested for leaks and for the function of its equipment before it leaves.

VI

The finish

Surfaces are polished and given a hand buffed finish.

VII

The journey

Pieces are crated and shipped by carrier to wherever in the world they are going.

VIII

The care

Equipment packages use standard components, so local spa specialists can look after them for years.

Hot and Cold

The backyard
wellness circuit.

The house builds both halves of the modern ritual: the warm, deep spa and the cold therapy plunge, side by side.
