Backgammon

Play backgammon online, free

Welcome to the backgammon table at the Simply Luxury Games Room. A tooled leather board, ivory and onyx checkers and hand rolled dice, made for one of the oldest games in the world. There is nothing to download, no account to make and nothing to pay.

Play the house

Our house player is always ready for a game. It weighs every legal way to play each roll, so you will need to think about safety, blocking and timing to beat it.

Play a friend

Choose Play a Friend and the room creates a private table with its own link. Send the link to your friend and play live together on any phone, tablet or computer. Each private table seats two players; anyone else who opens the link can only watch.

The rules in brief

Each player moves fifteen checkers around the board according to the dice and races to bring them all home and bear them off. A single checker on a point can be hit and sent to the bar, and must enter again before any other move. Doubles are played four times, and you must use as much of your roll as the rules allow. The table highlights every legal move for you.
