The Mercedes Benz EQS has arrived in Britain as a saloon that thinks differently about electric propulsion. Under the bonnet lies an entirely new electrical architecture: an 800-volt system that channels power with uncommon directness, fundamentally altering how quickly the car can drink from a public charger. At a 350kW charging point, the EQS drinks nearly 200 miles of range in just ten minutes, a figure that transforms the mathematics of long distance motoring.

The saloon stretches over five metres and settles onto 5.2 metres of composed wheelbase. Its drag coefficient of 0.20 Cd places it among the most aerodynamically refined cars on the road, a discipline that translates directly to range. The battery pack has grown to 122kWh, itself a refined unit built from chemistry that accepts charge without protest. The result is range that nudges toward 542 miles on the WLTP test cycle, sufficient to traverse from London to the Scottish border without pause for anxiety.

Inside, the MBUX Hyperscreen dominates the dashboard as a continuous glass panel housing three integrated displays. This is Mercedes’ digital ecosystem made tangible: MB.OS, the car’s artificial intelligence layer, learns patterns and preferences, weaving climate, navigation and entertainment together with an intelligence that makes the cabin feel coherently thought through rather than simply layered with screens. The cabin architecture itself follows the EQS’s electric nature: a cream leather interior with the geometry and proportion that come from a platform designed from the ground up for batteries rather than combustion engines.

The range spans from the 450+ with rear wheel drive through to the AMG 53 4Matic with dual motors and all wheel ambition. Each variant inherits the 800-volt charging infrastructure, transforming the British motorway network from an endurance test into a place of strategic pause rather than resigned refuelling.
The Mercedes Benz EQS is available to order from Mercedes Benz retailers across the United Kingdom.
