Shellona St Tropez has opened once more on the sand at Plage de Pampelonne, that magnificent stretch of beach where the Côte d’Azur still knows how to gather in the golden hours. The restaurant occupies Chemin des Tamaris in Ramatuelle, and from the first light it draws the particular congregation that understands what this place offers: neither quiet nor restraint, but the precise opposite.

The canopy overhead spills with thousands upon thousands of tiny lights, dense as stars and warm as honey. Below them, crowds move in the bright chaos of summer where everyone has simply decided to be exactly where they are. Young women in white linen raise their arms. Men in dark glasses work the decks. Phones catch the moment. The energy belongs to the daytime beach crowd that refuses to leave when the sun softens but the day refuses to end.

Chef Yiannis Kioroglou orchestrates the kitchen, his name joined by partners The Berry Company and ZC Global in the restoration of Shellona’s particular magic. The food moves through the day with the same confidence that the crowd moves through the space: no fussing, no apology, simply the right thing at the right moment.

The restaurant operates at Plage de Pampelonne through the season. Reservations and enquiries can be made on +33 (0)4 22 47 11 24 or at pampelonne@shellonabeach.com. The dress code, if unwritten, is self evident: arrive in the clothes that say you belong to the Riviera.
