Stephen Webster Bond bracelet showing the camera shutter clasp with central white diamond and black and white pavéed diamonds, connected to a gunmetal-finish Cuban link chain engraved with smoke detail

Stephen Webster’s design instinct has always tilted towards the theatrical, the cinematic, the moment when jewellery becomes costume for living. His new bracelet from the Magnificent Seven collection draws directly from Ian Fleming’s creation, capturing the metallic spiral of the camera shutter that opens every Bond film title sequence. The conceit is clever without being clever by halves: the central white diamond sits within concentric circles of black and white pavéed diamonds, each ring suggesting the iris closing to that famous shot.

The execution is characteristically Webster. The 18ct white gold front panel receives a gunmetal finish that refuses to gleam; it absorbs light instead, lending the piece a serious, nocturnal quality. The white mother of pearl backing provides a whisper of luminescence visible only when the wearer knows to look. The clasp mechanism is heavy and purposeful, a double trigger that feels engineered rather than merely decorative. The Cuban link chain, also in sterling silver with gunmetal finish, is engraved with smoke, a textural detail that speaks to the restraint of the whole conception.

What matters here is monochromatic discipline. No colour distracts from the architectural geometry of the shutter design; no warmth compromises its cool authority. This is jewellery pitched at a particular sensibility, one that recognises glamour in austerity and finds power in restraint.

The bracelet is limited to ten numbered pieces. It is available at the Stephen Webster boutique at Burlington Arcade and through stephenwebster.com.
