The lantern lit passageways of Souq Madinat Jumeirah, that evocative recreation of ancient Arabian commerce framed by carved timber ceilings and bordered by the turquoise waterways of Madinat Jumeirah, will host its Small Creators experience from 11 to 15 November. Each evening from 4:30 to 8:30 pm, children aged five to eleven make their way through five distinct creative zones, each rewarding their progression with stamps in an Artist Passport.

Where Impressionist Gardens Meet Luminous Sand Tables

The journey opens in The Impressionist Garden, where nature inspired art dissolves into interactive digital displays. From there, young visitors venture into The Color Lab, a space devoted to exploring form and hue, before moving to The Light Table Studio, where children craft illuminated sand paintings. The Puppet Maker Workshop follows, inviting each child to design their own finger puppets. The experience concludes at Sketch to AI, an intriguing threshold between drawing and machine learning where each child’s artwork transforms into a digital creation, captured via QR code to take home.

Beyond these structured moments, families drift through the souk’s maze of boutiques and artisan stalls, or settle into restaurants perched above the water channels where abras drift past. The architectural grammar of wind towers and carved archways encloses everything, a tangible reminder that imagination flourishes when surrounded by the craftsmanship of the past. The open air amphitheatre hosts the workshops on a first come, first served basis. Full programme details are available at soukmadinatjumeirah.ae.
