On the coast of Orcas Island, in the Pacific Northwest, Zacharia Leck forges metal to give shape to the memory of the material. Blacksmith and artist Zacharia’s universe is filled with heat, physical exertion and creations built over time. The Fay Archive team met up with him in his lab surrounded by woods and the sea.

Fay Archive, which celebrates the outerwear brand’s workwear heritage, has unveiled a new chapter and collection as part of its roving campaign format. The photographer James Mollison captured the 5 testers of the brand’s outerwear encountered and selected in their natural environment, in the places where they live and work. For Leck, this meant documenting his practice in the forge and his studio, where iron becomes sculpture, fire becomes companion, and the geometric ikat print of his jacket contrasts beautifully against the industrial warmth of his surroundings.

Fay, an Italian fashion brand established in the 1980s, is renowned for its unique blend of sophisticated style and practicality.
