Post Archive Faction stages Organic Orbit, a sculptural installation that occupies the full three floors of Assemble by Reel in Shanghai’s Jing’an District. The work consists of precisely arranged black forms suspended within a transparent cylindrical structure, each element positioned to create a rhythmic visual dialogue that shifts as one moves through the space.

The installation recalls the Japanese label’s signature approach to form and materiality. Black silhouettes fan outward in graduated sequences, their sharp angles and organic curves suggesting both geological formations and the contours of the human silhouette. At the core stands a reflective silver column that anchors the composition, its polished surface catching and fragmenting light across the gallery’s pale wooden floors and illuminated walls.

Organic Orbit unfolds across multiple levels, allowing the work to be experienced from shifting vantage points. From above, the arrangement reveals mathematical precision; from within, the forms seem to pulse with movement. The piece engages directly with the gallery’s architecture, transforming the neutral modernist shell into an environment where the boundary between sculpture and spatial experience dissolves entirely.

The exhibition runs through November 30 at Assemble by Reel, located on floors one through three of 1601 Nanjing West Road, Jing’an District, Shanghai.
