Alice Cicolini has released the final pair of her Summer Snow earrings, and they carry the weight of closure. Carved by hand over more than a decade of collaboration with Bablu ji in Jaipur, these stones arrive as something between sculpture and jewellery, their forms drawn from the cascading blossoms and geometric bamboo patterns of traditional kimono design. What begins as something loose and falling is held within what is ordered, a visual philosophy that moves through every element of Alice’s practice.
The pair that emerges now is singular in its colourway. Where watermelon tourmaline typically reveals green and pink, these stones speak instead in black and pink, their surfaces carved to reveal the inner patterns the raw stone was holding all along. Around each bloom sits a pavé of rubies and pink sapphires set in 9ct yellow gold, punctuated by spinels and a pink tourmaline briolette that catches the light and moves with the body of whoever wears them. The craftsmanship is absolute: no two pairs will ever look the same, each carved disc unique to the hand that shaped it.
These earrings have lived in Alice’s private archive, tended carefully as though in a small museum, waiting for their moment. That moment has arrived. They are the only pair in this colourway ever made, and among the last pieces of the Summer Snow collection still held in reserve. For enquiries, contact Rossella at rossella@alicecicolini.com.
