Deep within Liberty’s timber framed atrium, a monumental wooden bell hangs suspended like a fantastical ornament, its pale ash surface crowned with a crimson ribbon bearing the Diptyque name. Scaled for enchantment rather than sound, it commands the soaring space with the gravity of a grand chandelier, while red and sage green baubles float overhead in varying sizes, scattering the eye across the architectural splendour of dark beams and warm gilt.
The installation celebrates Diptyque’s Enchanted Forest collection, a series of limited edition offerings drawn from the imaginative universe of Jean Simon Roch, the French artist and woodworker whose intricate creations have shaped the house’s visual language this season. At ground level, smaller wooden trees in forest green fringe, their branches studded with miniature treasures and wrapped packages in cream and red, create intimate vignettes that invite closer inspection. Oversized toadstools in glossy scarlet sit nestled among scattered gifts and Diptyque’s signature offerings, each detail carefully composed to suggest a storybook world waiting to be discovered.
The Enchanted Forest collection brings this sylvan fantasy into tangible form through fragrances, home scents and objets d’art that capture the poetic essence of woodland magic. The display transforms shopping into a sensory journey, where the interplay of light on polished wood and the architectural drama of Liberty’s listed interior creates an atmosphere of sophisticated whimsy.
Liberty London opens until 9pm Monday through Saturday, extending hours for late night Christmas shopping throughout the season.
