For Autumn 2026, the Italian house has introduced the Baby Campana, a scaled-down interpretation of the archival silhouette that first returned to attention through the house’s recent collections. Its smaller dimensions give the design a distinctly different character while preserving the construction and understated visual language associated with Bottega Veneta.

The Campana is built around the house’s approach to leatherwork: supple material, careful construction, and a restrained attitude towards branding. Rather than relying on prominent logos or elaborate hardware, the design allows the Intrecciato technique to provide its visual identity. The woven leather creates both texture and structure, giving the bag a tactile quality long central to Bottega Veneta’s accessories.

The Baby Campana measures 20cm in width, 12.5cm in height, and 9cm in depth. Its proportions are compact without being purely decorative. According to Bottega Veneta, the bag can accommodate an iPhone 17 Pro Max, a card case and keys, placing it firmly within the category of small bags designed around the essentials of contemporary daily life.

A notable distinction is the addition of a sliding cross-body strap. The feature lets the Baby Campana be carried over the shoulder or across the body, while the 13.5cm handle drop also lets it sit naturally in the hand or at the crook of the arm. The strap has a 55cm drop, giving the compact silhouette greater flexibility than its appearance might initially suggest.

The bag is finished with a leather tie closure and concealed magnet, keeping the exterior visually clean. Brass-finish hardware adds a subtle contrast without interrupting the woven surface. Bottega Veneta states that the Baby Campana is made in Italy from lambskin leather, with the Intrecciato construction extending into the interior.

The colour selection also reflects the versatility built into the design. A black or espresso version can sit comfortably alongside tailored evening dressing, while the lighter shades lend themselves to more relaxed combinations. Its scale makes the bag suitable for occasions where a larger carryall would feel excessive, yet the cross-body strap keeps it connected to the practical demands of daytime dressing.

Its revival has brought an earlier Bottega Veneta shape into the present, while the Baby Campana shifts its proportions for a different rhythm of use. Rather than reproducing an archival design without alteration, the smaller version introduces a feature specific to its scale: the sliding strap.

Bottega Veneta’s current Campana offering extends beyond the Baby version, with Small, Medium and Large iterations appearing alongside it in the house’s collection. The Baby therefore sits within a broader family rather than replacing its larger counterparts. The range allows the same fundamental language of soft leather and Intrecciato construction to take on different proportions and functions.
