LUCID GRAVITY GT-S BRINGS SUPERCAR PERFORMANCE TO A LUXURY THREE-ROW SUV
Lucid’s new Gravity GT-S pushes its electric SUV into a more performance-focused direction, combining 1,070 horsepower with three-row practicality, adaptive suspension and a distinctive interior. Scheduled to make its global debut during Monterey Car Week, the model extends Lucid’s performance philosophy beyond the Air range.

Lucid has introduced the Gravity GT-S, a new performance-oriented version of its three-row electric SUV. Drawing inspiration from the Lucid Air Sapphire, the GT-S adds greater power and more focused chassis technology to the Gravity while retaining the qualities that define the model as a family-oriented luxury vehicle: generous space, seating for up to seven adults and substantial cargo capacity.
The new model arrives at an interesting point in the development of the electric performance SUV. Rather than treating speed and everyday usability as competing priorities, Lucid has positioned the Gravity GT-S around both. Its headline figures are firmly in performance-car territory, yet its proportions and cabin remain designed for passengers, luggage and longer journeys.

At the centre of the GT-S is a powertrain producing 1,070 horsepower. Lucid says the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds, making it one of the most performance-focused three-row electric vehicles available in the US. The figures are notable not simply because of the vehicle’s size, but because the Gravity GT-S retains seating for as many as seven adults.
The performance upgrades extend beyond outright power. The GT-S comes as standard with Lucid’s Dynamic Handling Package, which combines independent rear-wheel steering with adaptive three-chamber air suspension. Together, these systems are intended to give the large SUV greater agility and stability while maintaining the ride comfort expected of a luxury vehicle.
The air suspension also allows the vehicle to lower itself at speed. This creates a more performance-oriented stance while contributing to the vehicle’s high-speed aerodynamic behaviour. Rear-wheel steering, meanwhile, can make a large vehicle feel more responsive by adjusting the rear wheels in relation to the fronts.
That balance between dynamic ability and comfort is central to the GT-S concept. The Gravity platform was developed around the idea that an electric SUV does not have to sacrifice practicality in pursuit of performance. The GT-S takes that proposition further, adding chassis technology and visual details intended to distinguish it from other versions of the range.
Its exterior treatment is deliberately restrained. Blue accents provide the principal visual signature, complemented by painted blue brake callipers. Rather than covering the bodywork with overt performance graphics, Lucid has used colour and detailing to identify the GT-S as the more focused member of the Gravity family.

Inside, the same blue theme becomes more pronounced. The Mojave PurLuxe Premium interior features blue stitching and piping across the first and second rows, while matching blue seatbelts add another layer of contrast. Blue stitching appears on the steering wheel, door armrests and front centre armrest, creating a consistent thread throughout the cabin.
Additional details include a blue steering-wheel marker and Lucid Bear logos embossed into the front-seat headrests. These elements give the interior a more personalised character while maintaining the relatively clean design language associated with Lucid’s vehicles.
The emphasis on space remains just as important. With three rows and room for up to seven adults, the Gravity GT-S is designed to accommodate the practical requirements of everyday driving alongside its performance credentials. Its cargo capacity further reinforces that positioning, allowing the vehicle to function as a family SUV rather than a performance model whose utility is secondary.
Technology is another part of the proposition. Lucid describes its vehicles as software-defined, with the Gravity GT-S built around the company’s broader electric-vehicle technology platform. The approach allows the vehicle’s hardware, software and driving systems to work as part of a connected architecture rather than as isolated features.
The model’s development also reflects Lucid’s wider performance heritage. The Lucid Air Sapphire, the company’s high-performance luxury saloon, serves as a direct reference point for the Gravity GT-S. Sapphire established a more aggressive interpretation of Lucid’s electric performance philosophy, and the GT-S transfers elements of that approach into a larger, more versatile body style.
That relationship is particularly fitting as the Gravity GT-S prepares for its public introduction. The SUV is scheduled to make its global debut during Monterey Car Week, a gathering closely associated with automotive design, collector culture and performance. Lucid plans to display the GT-S alongside the Lucid Air Sapphire in the Concours Village at Pebble Beach.
The setting places the new SUV within a broader conversation about how electric vehicles are changing perceptions of luxury and performance. For Lucid, the GT-S provides an opportunity to demonstrate that its performance ambitions extend beyond a single body style.

Lucid itself was founded in 2007 as Atieva, initially concentrating on electric-vehicle battery technology before developing its own vehicles. The company was renamed Lucid Motors in 2016 and established its headquarters in Newark, California. Its first production car, the Lucid Air, entered production in 2021 at the company’s AMP-1 manufacturing facility in Casa Grande, Arizona. The brand has since built its identity around electric powertrains, efficiency, software and a design-led approach to luxury mobility.
The Gravity represents the next stage of that development, bringing Lucid’s technology into the premium SUV category. The GT-S adds another dimension, positioning the platform for customers who want the practicality of a large electric SUV without stepping away from performance.
In the United States, the Lucid Gravity GT-S is priced from $125,900, before tax, title, registration, options, destination and documentation fees. A Tahoe leather interior option is available for an additional $1,300, while destination and delivery charges are listed at $1,850. The model is planned exclusively for the US market at launch.
What makes the Gravity GT-S particularly interesting is the way its various priorities coexist. Its 1,070-horsepower output and 3.1-second acceleration figure place it firmly within the performance conversation, yet the three-row cabin, flexible interior and air suspension point towards a very different kind of daily use.
Lucid has therefore chosen not to make the GT-S a stripped-back exercise in speed. Instead, the model treats performance as another layer within a larger luxury proposition — one that includes comfort, technology, space and considered design. As electric vehicles continue to expand the boundaries of what different categories can offer, the Gravity GT-S suggests that the most compelling performance cars may no longer need to look or behave like traditional performance cars at all.
