The Al Shifaa Summit for Integrative Medicine returns to Abu Dhabi for its eagerly anticipated second edition, convening an exceptional gathering of leading practitioners, researchers, innovators and experts from across the UAE and the international stage. Held from 20 to 22 October 2026 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi as part of Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit 2026, this three day immersion promises profound exploration into the disciplines and philosophies reshaping contemporary medicine.
Orchestrated under the theme “Tradition, Science and the Future of Integrative Medicine”, the Summit presents a sophisticated examination of how ancestral knowledge and complementary practices, including the rich heritage of Emirati Traditional Medicine, converge with contemporary scientific research, rigorous education and emerging technological advancement. The initiative, guided by the UAE Integrative Medicine Council, recognises that a truly holistic approach to healthcare demands the thoughtful integration of diverse knowledge systems, underpinned by evidence, safety protocols and clear regulatory frameworks.
A Multifaceted Exploration
The comprehensive three day programme unfolds across three distinct yet interconnected dimensions: an interactive exhibition, the Exchange Hub and the Pledge Zone. The exhibition itself traces an illuminating progression through three principal areas: Traditional Knowledge, Scientific Foundations and Building the Integrative Medicine Ecosystem. Visitors journey through the documentation and evaluation of practices, witnessing how knowledge evolves into evidence based methodologies grounded in scientific rigour.
The Exchange Hub serves as the intellectual heart of the gathering, hosting dynamic sessions and open discourse encompassing regulation and quality assurance, clinical evidence and research, education pathways, technological innovation, scientific foundations and traditional knowledge systems. This collaborative space fosters meaningful dialogue amongst stakeholders, creating opportunities for partnerships and the exchange of expertise that will shape the field’s trajectory.
The Pledge Zone offers an introspective experience, inviting attendees to reflect upon and articulate their own understanding of integrative medicine through a digital interface inspired by the aflaj irrigation system.
