SilverCat is using the all-new 47 to define the second generation of its power-catamaran range, shifting the emphasis towards wider living spaces, easier access to the water and a more overtly social style of cruising. Developed by the UAE-based brand within Gulf Craft Group, the 47 is the first model to introduce the new design language across the Family Series.

More beam, more life at the waterline

The most obvious change is proportion. With a 4.92-metre beam, the SilverCat 47 has been designed to create larger social zones both inside and outside, including one of the broadest aft entertainment areas in its class. Optional fold-down balconies can extend the cockpit laterally, while an automatic swim ladder developed in-house provides direct access to the water.

The cockpit can be configured with different seating arrangements depending on how the owner intends to use the boat, and an extended hardtop adds shade for warm-weather cruising. Forward, a second lounge can seat up to eight guests, creating another place to gather without relying on the aft deck alone.

A family cruiser with contemporary yacht cues

Inside, a wide-opening patio door connects the saloon and cockpit, reinforcing the indoor-outdoor flow that now dominates modern multihull design. Panoramic glazing, configurable galley arrangements and en-suite accommodation are intended to make the boat feel more like a compact contemporary yacht than a purely functional powercat.

The helm itself is social rather than isolated, with twin seating for the driver and additional companion seats. A tropical HVAC package reflects the conditions in which many Gulf Craft customers actually use their boats, making the model particularly relevant to owners cruising in the Gulf, Indian Ocean and other warm-water regions.

SilverCat has also incorporated rPET foam-core material made from recycled plastic. The company says the material reduces production-related CO2 emissions compared with conventional SAN foam while maintaining the structural performance required for the hull. It is a relatively technical detail, but one that points to the wider pressure on yacht builders to reduce environmental impact without compromising durability.

The SilverCat 47 therefore represents more than a model replacement. It is an attempt to sharpen the identity of the entire brand around space, accessibility and relaxed entertaining. For owners who want the stability and efficiency of a power catamaran without sacrificing the visual and social qualities associated with larger luxury yachts, that formula is increasingly persuasive.
