The waters that frame Abu Dhabi hold a particular poetry: they move with light, breathe with life, and shift in colour across the hours. Vilebrequin has long understood the vocabulary of such places. The French resort wear house has translated that understanding into a limited edition capsule that captures not merely the aesthetic of the emirate’s coastal landscape, but its essence.

Drawing from the protected shores of Saadiyat Island and the region’s rich underwater ecosystems, the collection moves between swimwear and ready to wear for men, women and children. What distinguishes it is a commitment to specificity: fluid patterns and sun washed tones do not simply evoke the sea in the abstract, but rather translate the particular movement and light of Abu Dhabi’s waters into distinctive designs. The palette is one of soft restraint, ochre, sand, the pale blues of shallow shallows, allowing the hand drawn quality of the prints to speak with quiet authority.

At the collection’s heart sits Vilebrequin’s iconic turtle motif, reimagined through details inspired by the local marine world. Yet the capsule carries a deeper story. Through an initiative called Save The Tides, the house invited university students across Abu Dhabi to explore the dialogue between fashion and marine conservation. That winning design, created by Islay Bayar of New York University Abu Dhabi, forms the foundation of this collection. It is an elegant gesture: honouring the creativity of the next generation whilst embedding within the designs themselves a conversation about environmental stewardship and ocean preservation.

What emerges is more than a seasonal collection. It represents a shared language between the house and the emirate, one that speaks to creativity, environmental consciousness and the role of design in shaping a more thoughtful future. The silhouettes carry Vilebrequin’s characteristic ease, the cut of a shirt that falls with precision, the way a swim trunk drapes with both structure and fluidity. These are garments made for bodies moving through water and light, for the particular luxury of resort living where time dilates and beauty becomes a kind of daily sustenance.

The limited edition capsule becomes available from 14 October 2026 at selected Vilebrequin stores worldwide and through both the Hamac and Vilebrequin online platforms. It is a collection that speaks to those who understand that true luxury lives not in excess, but in the marriage of beauty, purpose and place.
