Kuboraum, the conceptual eyewear house renowned for its sculptural approach to optical design, materialises its distinctive philosophy in a dedicated experience at EYETHINK Shibuya PARCO. The installation arrives as an intimate encounter with the brand’s vision, inviting visitors into a carefully considered space where the act of seeing becomes as essential as the object itself.

Housed on the third floor of this prominent Tokyo destination, the experience unfolds across an eight week period, from October into November. The presentation merges Kuboraum’s architectural sensibility with the sensory richness the brand has cultivated since its inception in Berlin. Here, eyewear transcends its functional purpose to become sculpture for the face, each frame considered as a deliberate composition of form, material and intent.

The space draws together Kuboraum’s approach to optical design, where unconventional geometry and unexpected material combinations create frames that challenge conventional beauty. Visitors encounter the brand’s distinctive aesthetic firsthand, exploring how light refracts through carefully chosen lenses and how proportions reshape the silhouette of the face.

This Tokyo iteration speaks to the growing significance of the city as a centre for considered design and eyewear culture. Shibuya PARCO itself functions as a platform for brands that prioritise experiential immersion over transactional exchange, a philosophy that aligns perfectly with Kuboraum’s methodology. The collaboration with EYETHINK, a specialised optical curator, brings together complementary visions of how eyewear should be experienced and understood.

The setting invites a moment of stillness within one of Tokyo’s most dynamic neighbourhoods, a pause in which design becomes a conversation. Within this carefully crafted environment, the frames themselves communicate the brand’s commitment to craft, proportion and the transformative potential of considered optical design.
