Nine months into 2026, ADIB demonstrates the financial fortitude that characterises institutions built on disciplined fundamentals and customer centricity. The bank’s net profit before tax reached AED 6.4 billion, reflecting steady year on year momentum, whilst return on equity stood at 28 per cent, a measure of the capital efficiency with which the institution deploys its shareholder resources.
This sustained performance rests upon a foundation of genuine business expansion. Financing portfolios expanded by 25 per cent year on year, a figure that speaks to authentic lending growth rather than mere numerical growth. The acquisition of more than 200,000 new customers during the period underscores the bank’s capacity to extend its reach within the market, whilst deposit growth of 17 per cent reflects the confidence placed in the institution by its depositors.
Perhaps more telling than headline growth figures is the quality of the assets underpinning the bank’s balance sheet. The non performing financing ratio has declined to 2.0 per cent, the lowest point in the bank’s history. This metric is no mere technical measure; it speaks to the calibre of credit decisions made by the institution, the robustness of its underwriting disciplines and the fundamental health of its customers’ financial circumstances. A portfolio of this quality, maintained even as the bank has expanded its customer base materially, reflects both the sophistication of risk management and the organic nature of the growth being achieved.
The strength of ADIB’s capital position and liquidity profile provides the platform upon which such expansion is built. These are not abstract concepts but rather the sinews that enable a financial institution to weather unforeseen circumstances and to pursue opportunity when it arises. They represent, in essence, the freedom to execute strategy without constraint.
The bank’s position is notably aligned with the strategic ambitions that animate Vision 2035, the longer term framework that extends beyond quarterly reporting and into the realm of generational wealth creation for the nation. ADIB’s trajectory of growth, coupled with its demonstrated discipline in asset selection and management, positions it as an instrument through which the next phase of these ambitions may be advanced. The Islamic banking model that underpins the institution’s operations remains, as it has since ADIB’s establishment, an enduring framework for financial conduct that merges profit with principle.
The results speak not merely to what has been achieved, but to the resilience and adaptability of an institution that has continued to expand during a period of considerable complexity in global financial markets. In this context, ADIB’s performance represents both a validation of its strategic positioning and a testament to the quality of the teams that execute its mandate.
