The Aesop Queer Library arrives at Aesop Taichung as a spirited exercise in collective voice and deliberate curation. Until 10 November, the space transforms into a living archive of perspectives drawn from across the LGBTQIA+ community, a carefully assembled collection that moves beyond tokenism into genuine representation and intellectual generosity.

The Taiwan edition organises itself around the theme ‘Body of Work’ an appropriately layered concept that speaks to both labour and embodiment, to the tangible traces of creative thought made manifest. Visitors will find complimentary volumes sourced from four independent bookstores, each title selected to broaden understanding and amplify voices too often marginalised in mainstream discourse. Until 8 November, the physical books remain available for browsing and taking; audiobooks extend through 10 November, accommodating different rhythms of engagement and accessibility.

The installation itself bears the imprint of Aesop’s considered approach to beauty retail as cultural space. Natural timber shelving holds the collection with quiet dignity, while considered typography and clean sightlines invite unhurried discovery. The gesture feels characteristically Aesop: not advertising consumption but creating conditions for thought, for encounter, for the kind of lingering that books themselves demand. The light falls across wood and spines with the particular generosity of a space designed to hold stillness.
