BYD will return to The British Motor Show in 2026 with one of its most extensive UK line-ups yet, using the three-day event to introduce visitors to a selection of its latest electric and plug-in hybrid models. The appearance also marks the first time that DENZA, BYD’s premium-focused marque, will join the company at the show.
Taking place at the Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre from 21 to 23 August, this year’s event brings together new electric vehicles, hybrid models, performance cars and emerging automotive technologies. The venue expects more than 30,000 families and motoring enthusiasts to attend, making the show an important opportunity for manufacturers to present new models directly to the UK public.

For BYD, the 2026 appearance represents the third consecutive year at the British Motor Show. The company will showcase several recent additions to its European range, including the Ti 7 DM-p, DOLPHIN G DM-i and the revised SEAL. The SHARK pick-up will also appear elsewhere at the event, on the New Car World Championships stand.
The Ti 7 DM-p is particularly significant within BYD’s European range. The seven-seat plug-in hybrid SUV uses the company’s DM-p technology and is positioned around the practical demands of family travel while retaining an electric-first approach. UK pricing starts at £47,995, with the model combining petrol and electric power through an all-wheel-drive system. Independent UK reporting places its combined output at around 402bhp, with a claimed 0–62mph time of 4.8 seconds.
Alongside the larger SUV will be the DOLPHIN G DM-i, a compact plug-in hybrid developed for the European B-segment. The model introduces BYD’s latest DM 5.0 Super Hybrid technology to the European market, pairing a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and Blade Battery technology. Depending on specification, the DOLPHIN G DM-i offers up to 65 miles of pure-electric driving and a combined WLTP range of up to 646 miles.
Its compact dimensions are intended to suit urban driving, while a 425-litre boot gives the car a degree of practicality more commonly associated with larger vehicles. Higher specifications add features including a larger infotainment display, heated front seats and steering wheel, a 360-degree camera and Vehicle-to-Load capability. The model is expected to reach UK customers later in 2026.
The DOLPHIN G DM-i also illustrates the broader direction of BYD’s European strategy. Rather than reserving plug-in hybrid technology for larger vehicles, the company is bringing its latest powertrain developments into a compact hatchback. The result is a model designed to accommodate shorter electric journeys while retaining the flexibility of a petrol engine for longer distances.
The revised SEAL provides a different interpretation of the same technological focus. The all-electric saloon has been updated for 2026 with changes intended to improve practicality and driver assistance, alongside revised wheels and new exterior colour options. It remains one of the more performance-oriented models within BYD’s electric passenger-car line-up.
Away from the main BYD display, visitors will be able to see the SHARK, the brand’s plug-in hybrid pick-up. The model uses BYD’s DMO off-road-oriented powertrain and develops 435PS, with an electric-only range of up to 55 miles and a claimed towing capacity of 2,500kg. It made its European debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier in 2026, marking BYD’s move into a segment traditionally dominated by established utility and commercial vehicle manufacturers.
The British Motor Show appearance will also introduce UK visitors to DENZA, which occupies a different position within the wider BYD Group. The marque was established in 2010 as a joint venture between BYD and Mercedes-Benz, with an initial focus on new-energy vehicles. In 2024, DENZA became wholly owned by BYD and has since developed as the group’s premium brand, with a portfolio spanning SUVs, MPVs and saloons.

Its presence at Farnborough reflects the growing breadth of BYD Group’s European offering. DENZA’s Z9 GT grand tourer and BAO 5 SUV will form part of the display, giving visitors a glimpse of a more premium interpretation of the company’s approach to electrified mobility.
BYD’s own history began in Shenzhen, China, in the mid-1990s. The company was founded in February 1995 and initially concentrated on rechargeable battery manufacturing before entering the automotive sector in 2003. Its development has since extended across automobiles, batteries, renewable energy and rail transit. BYD says its new-energy vehicles are now present in more than 120 countries and regions, underlining the scale of its international expansion.
Battery technology remains central to that history. BYD developed its Blade Battery and has continued to build vehicles around proprietary battery, electric powertrain and hybrid technologies. Its UK range now spans fully electric cars and Super DM plug-in hybrids, reflecting a strategy that gives consumers several routes into electrified driving rather than relying on a single powertrain format.
The company is also treating the British Motor Show as an opportunity for interaction rather than a static vehicle display. Its stand will include a virtual-reality vehicle viewer, an interactive Discovery Wall focused on BYD technologies and family-oriented activities. The 2026 event will additionally offer opportunities for visitors to experience selected new cars through the show’s test-drive programme.
For those interested in seeing BYD models beyond the exhibition itself, the brand’s current UK store locator provides a live search for dealerships by postcode, city or address, including sales, servicing and test-drive availability.

The British Motor Show arrives at a moment when the definition of an electric or electrified vehicle is becoming increasingly varied. BYD’s presence illustrates that shift clearly: the line-up moves from a small plug-in hybrid hatchback to a seven-seat SUV, from a fully electric saloon to an off-road-capable pick-up, while DENZA introduces a premium dimension to the same technological landscape.
Taken together, the models suggest that the next phase of electrified motoring is unlikely to be defined by a single type of vehicle. At Farnborough, the conversation will instead centre on choice — how electric and hybrid technologies can be adapted to different roads, routines and expectations. That breadth may ultimately prove more revealing than any individual new-car launch.
