The weekend brunch at Ella’s Eatery now reflects a thoughtful culinary journey through Nordic kitchens, where Scandinavian heritage meets contemporary refinement. Available each Friday through Sunday from one o’clock, the three hour experience draws from the restaurant’s deep connection to the flavours and unhurried spirit of Northern Europe, translating them into a menu of considerable substance and appeal.
The opening moves showcase this philosophy with elegant restraint. Goat cheese croquettes arrive with lingonberry compote and toasted pistachio, while Toast Skagen presents marinated crayfish tails touched with chives, dill and mayonnaise in the traditional Swedish manner. For those seeking something beyond convention, Korean chicken tenders glazed with gochujang arrive with dill and jalapeño ranch, and salt baked beetroot finds grace through whipped feta, pesto and a sea buckthorn and balsamic reduction.
The main courses command attention through their clarity of purpose. Classic Swedish meatballs arrive with creamy mashed potato, veal and cream sauce, lingonberry and pickled cucumber, while Norwegian salmon pairs baked fish and crayfish tails with asparagus, green beans and a Sandefjord sauce of shellfish ancestry, accompanied by baby Hasselback potatoes and dill. The Nordic crayfish salad combines marinated tails with quinoa, avocado, egg, asparagus and spinach, while the signature chicken offers herbed rice, edamame, coriander mayonnaise, pickled rutabaga, Swedish cucumbers and kimchi. A crayfish orecchiette pasta weaves together mixed mushrooms, spinach and a lightly spiced curry carbonara, and for vegetarian guests, crispy cauliflower arrives with sumac labneh, chimichurri, seasonal vegetables, Parmesan and brown butter sauce.

Dessert and Drink
Dessert continues this narrative of Nordic tradition with considerable elegance. A no base cheesecake tops itself with Nordic berry compote and mint, while an affogato pairs house made vanilla ice cream with Swedish roasted Gevalia coffee. The signature kladdkaka, a classic Swedish gooey chocolate cake, finishes with vanilla whipped cream. The House Package presents Nordic inspired cocktails of considered depth: the Lingon Sour builds from Swedish lingon infused vodka, elderflower, lime and Angostura bitters, whilst the Blåbär Margarita combines Nordic blueberry infused tequila with almond syrup and lime, and the Havtorn Sour draws from Scandinavian sea buckthorn infused vodka with lemon liquor and zest. Additional signature cocktails include the Rhubarbara, Ella’s Applesour and Melissa Martini, with wine, prosecco, beer and classic pours completing the offering. The Soft Package includes thoughtfully composed mocktails by Barnes and Brown.
