Fawsley Hall Hotel, a distinguished 18th century manor house set within Hampshire’s countryside, welcomes guests for an indulgent festive season that stretches from late November through the new year. The programme opens with a Tree Lighting Ceremony on 28th November at five o’clock, an occasion marked by candlelit interiors adorned with garlands of crimson and gold baubles suspended beneath corniced ceilings and framed by honey toned drapes.

The festivities extend across Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve, each marked by celebrations designed around the rhythms of an earlier era. Guests will move through candlelit rooms by carriage, traverse the estate’s waterways by canal boat, and gather at long tables for the kind of shared meals that define winter tradition. Fawsley’s restaurant, Off Piste, hosts the season throughout, opening from 27th November to 3rd January on Friday to Tuesday, with lunch served from midday to half past two and dinner from five until half past nine.

The culinary centrepiece captures the ritual of a manor house Christmas: warm soufflés arrive in bread vessels still warm from the oven, their creamy interiors stirred tableside before being ladled onto plates below. These are dishes built around the hearth and the moment itself, celebrations of butter and restraint rather than excess.

The estate offers an alternative to the formulaic resort experience, a place where guests settle into rooms within rooms, where the corridors carry weight and history, where the lighting arrives from candle and fireplace rather than recessed spotlights. It is, quite simply, a private home with the capacity to accommodate those who recognise the difference.
