Forte Pedestal: where marble and cobalt crystal meet purpose
Reflections Copenhagen's latest addition to the Villa Collection transforms the everyday act of display into something altogether more sculptural. Forte pairs a cylindrical marble base with a cobalt crystal top, creating a pedestal that elevates both object and room.

The pedestal is a form that has always served function with grace, yet Reflections Copenhagen’s Forte moves beyond mere support. Here, a cylindrical column of pale marble, veined with warm grey and taupe, rises from the wooden floor with quiet authority. The stone’s natural patterning catches the light, each vein a record of geological time.
Atop this sits a circular top of deep cobalt crystal, its edge trimmed in a mosaic of tiny blue tiles that dance like malachite inlay around the perimeter. The contrast between the cool, glassy cobalt and the warm, organic texture of the marble is precisely what makes this piece work: two materials in dialogue, neither dominating the other.

What distinguishes Forte from a conventional side table is its sculptural presence. Placed in morning light, as shown in these photographs, it casts its own shadow, becomes its own still life. A glass vase of pink anemones rises from the top, or a small object rests there, suddenly invested with importance by the pedestal’s architectural composure. This is furniture as display theatre, where the base becomes as vital as what it holds.
Part of the Villa Collection, which draws on classical proportions and considered material pairings, Forte belongs in rooms where objects matter, where surfaces tell stories. It is the kind of piece that photographs beautifully but photographs less beautifully than it lives: catching different light throughout the day, becoming a focal point that shifts the entire spatial balance of an interior.
