The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, the world’s foremost authority in horologial recognition, concluded the second stop of its global touring exhibition in Bangkok on an extraordinarily successful note. Hosted within the refined cultural environs of The Forum at Gaysorn Amarin from 15 to 18 October, this exclusive presentation drew considerable admiration from an assembled gathering of collectors, connoisseurs and watch devotees who journeyed to witness the exceptional timepieces nominated by the esteemed GPHG Academy.
The significance of the occasion extended beyond the horological realm when the exhibition received its official inauguration from Guy Parmelin, President of the Swiss Confederation, alongside His Excellency Fabrice Filliez, Ambassador of Switzerland to Thailand. This distinguished attendance underscored the profound cultural resonance and international economic importance of watchmaking as a discipline, positioning the GPHG’s mission at the intersection of artisanal excellence and diplomatic regard.

Raymond Loretan, President of the GPHG Foundation, articulated the profound meaning of the Bangkok gathering, remarking upon the importance of Parmelin’s presence in honouring both the institution and the assembled watchmaking community. He emphasised the GPHG’s overarching mission: to convene, irrespective of geographical boundaries, the world’s most gifted artisans and devoted enthusiasts in unified celebration of creativity, craftsmanship and uncompromising excellence.
The robust attendance from Bangkok’s local horological community affirmed the city’s increasingly prominent role as a principal hub for watchmaking passion and sophistication throughout Asia. The exhibition’s resonance with collectors and culture custodians alike speaks to the universal language of horological mastery and the profound appreciation for timepieces that transcend mere mechanical function to become expressions of heritage and artistry.

The nominated timepieces, having completed their Bangkok residence, shall journey onward to the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire in Geneva, where they will remain in residence from 29 October to 15 November, culminating in the awards ceremony that represents the pinnacle of the horological calendar.
On Saturday, 7 November, the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève will present nineteen accolades, among them the most prestigious designation: the Aiguille d’Or Grand Prix. This twenty sixth official ceremony shall unfold at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices in Geneva, with proceedings transmitted live commencing at 6:30 p.m. CET, inviting the global watchmaking community and enthusiasts to witness the celebration of horological excellence in real time.
