Investcorp announced the final closing of its North American Private Equity (NAPE) Fund II at $1.22 billion, exceeding its $1.1 billion target. The gathering in New York brought together the fund’s ecosystem: institutional investors, the leadership teams of portfolio companies spanning fire safety, wealth management and commercial HVAC, and members of the Investcorp team itself. The assembly amounted to a milestone marked with deliberation on what has been accomplished and what lies ahead.

Investcorp’s North American Private Equity group has been investing in North American middle market businesses for more than 40 years, completing over 75 investments and deploying more than $25 billion in transaction value since inception. The Fund II presentation opened with remarks from Steve Miller and Nicky McGrane, Senior Managing Directors and Co Heads of NAPE, who walked the room through Fund I’s performance and the mechanics of the newly closed Fund II. Amit Gaind, Senior Managing Director at Investcorp, and Scott Harrison, Chief Executive of BCTS, the commercial HVAC platform, discussed the thesis animating the investments and the strategic initiatives underway.

Portfolio company leaders from CrossCountry Consulting, Fortune Fish, Kanawha Scales, PKF O’Connor Davies, Shearer Supply, Resultant Life, RoadSafe Traffic Systems, Sunrise Produce and S&S Truck Parts presented their own progress. Julie Welinsky, Managing Director at Investcorp, and Neil Smith, Co Chief Executive of CrossCountry Consulting, illuminated the investment thesis and strategic priorities that have defined that portfolio company’s trajectory. The meeting concluded with Dale O’Connell, newly appointed Head of Investor Relations and Fundraising, bringing final remarks to the room.

The momentum, both executives made plain, continues into Fund II’s deployment phase.
