Investec’s Career Catalyst, the social mobility programme developed in partnership with Arrival, has won Best Social Impact Initiative at the CorpComms Awards, cementing its position as a transformative force in youth employment. The recognition follows earlier accolade at the Business Awards UK, reflecting the programme’s measurable contribution to opening pathways into meaningful work.
Since its launch in 2024, Career Catalyst has supported young adults in building the confidence, practical skills and professional connections essential for workplace success. The results substantiate the initiative’s ambition: 62 per cent of participants have secured employment, a figure that speaks to genuine intervention in career trajectories. Over one hundred Investec colleagues have contributed their time and expertise to the programme’s delivery, embedding mentorship and professional guidance at its heart.
The initiative reflects Investec’s broader commitment to enduring social value. Rather than treating social mobility as a transactional corporate exercise, Career Catalyst operates on the conviction that meaningful opportunity, when genuinely extended, creates pathways to economic participation and personal agency. The involvement of Investec’s own workforce transforms the programme beyond classroom learning into authentic professional relationship building, where participants access the networks and insider knowledge that typically remain gatekept.
The award recognises not merely the programme’s structure but its substantive outcomes in an era when social stratification continues to constrain opportunity for capable young people. By removing barriers to entry and building confidence alongside skills, Career Catalyst addresses a recognised gap in the transition from education into stable employment. The recognition at the CorpComms Awards signals an industry acknowledgement that such work constitutes genuine corporate contribution beyond marketing narrative.
