Some jewellery houses are built in a boardroom. Kahawaty Jewels was built across three generations, a family table and two continents. Now based in Jumeirah, the house founded by Jessica Kahawaty with her father, Ghassan, brings more than seventy years of family craft to Dubai, with a promise it sums up in five words: where bold meets timeless. You can explore the house in full on its Kahawaty Jewels microsite on Simply Luxury.
From Sydney and Beirut
The story begins in the 1950s with Zahi Kahawaty, a jeweller in Sydney and Beirut with a discerning eye for diamonds and gold. His son Ghassan carried the craft forward, spending three and a half decades in the diamond and jewellery world, from Sydney to Dubai. In 1988 the family created the Octagon, an eight sided signature in 18k gold with precise diamond detail that has become a symbol of legacy and harmony, and which today frames the entire house.
Guided by those family values, and bringing a background in law, business, fashion and philanthropy, Jessica Kahawaty joined forces with her father to open a modern house in Dubai in 2025, built on ethical sourcing, exquisite design and accessible luxury. Every piece is set with natural diamonds and gemstones, and bespoke rings come with GIA certification.
The Mermaid, and eleven more stories
The house’s best selling creation is the Mermaid. Born from the rhythm of the sea and the allure of timeless glamour, its overlapping scales of pavé diamonds shimmer in luminous 18k rose and white gold, as a necklace, a bracelet and a statement collar that moves like water.
Around it sit eleven further collections. Aurora celebrates green tourmaline, inspired by the Northern Lights. GAIA captures the tender pink of morganite, set in 18k white gold. Classics is the debut collection, made to be worn every day; Link honours the bonds between generations; Engagement turns a love story into a keepsake; and Cocktail is bold, colourful and made to turn heads. Floral Spring, Art Deco, Oceanic Blue and Soleil complete the twelve, from romantic petals and 1920s geometry to aquamarine blues and rare yellow diamonds.
A palette of precious colour
Colour is where Kahawaty Jewels is at its most confident. The Tanzanite Dream choker and earrings pair deep violet blue stones with a cascade of diamonds; the Emerald Twist bangle sets vivid green emeralds among diamonds; a Ceylon sapphire cocktail ring sits in a halo of diamonds. Each is a reminder that this is a house which likes its gemstones to speak first.
By appointment in Jumeirah
Kahawaty Jewels receives clients at The Court Residence, Ground Floor, Jumeirah 1, Dubai, from Monday to Saturday between 3pm and 8pm, with visits outside those hours by appointment. The experience is personal from the first sketch to the final setting, whether the request is an engagement ring, a bespoke commission or a piece from one of the twelve collections, and the house ships around the world.
As the house puts it, each piece, whether a personal purchase or a gift, holds sentimental value, connecting generations through beauty and meaning. Visit kahawatyjewels.com or follow @kahawatyjewels on Instagram.
