Liberty enlists its gift curators for the festive season

Liberty’s Gift Curators operate in this refined space. They are the department store’s personal shopping experts, men and women trained in the particular language of luxury gift giving, attuned to the precise calibration needed when the recipient is discerning, busy or famously difficult to please.

From this week, the team is ready to work what might fairly be called magic. These are not stylists with a passing knowledge of the store; they are shoppers of extraordinary depth, able to navigate every department across Liberty’s six floors with the kind of intimate understanding that comes from genuine expertise. They know the inventory as one knows one’s own house. The service operates from Liberty’s private suite on the second floor, where Personal Shopping clients meet with a curator to discuss their gifting dilemmas. The shoppers will select carefully chosen pieces tailored to individual taste and circumstance, drawing from the store’s curatorial identity: Liberty textiles, jewellery, fragrance, beauty and the considered edit of brands across fashion, homewares and beyond. Consultations may happen in person, virtually from home, or appointments can be arranged for gift collection or delivery to one’s door.

For those for whom time is the greater luxury, extended opening hours through the season offer another way in. Liberty remains open until 9pm Monday through Saturday, a practical grace note designed for the late shopper caught between intention and the calendar’s demands. The Gift Curators’ work begins in store and continues online, meeting clients wherever their search for the perfect present has led them.
