Louis Vuitton dresses the cast of the Emmys’ most celebrated drama

The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards belonged to The Pitt. The medical drama arrived at the Peacock Theater with twenty-five nominations, more than any other series of the year, and left with Outstanding Drama Series for the second consecutive time and Lead Actor for Noah Wyle. Louis Vuitton spent the evening dressing its cast.

Two creative directors, one carpet

It is rare for a house to field both of its creative directors on the same night. Nicolas Ghesquière, who has led the women’s collections since 2013, dressed Chase Infiniti, nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for The Testaments, and Katherine LaNasa, nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for The Pitt. Pharrell Williams, men’s creative director since 2023, dressed Shawn Hatosy and Patrick Ball, both nominated in the supporting actor category for the same series. Every look was made to order.

That arrangement says something about how the house now works. Womenswear and menswear are run as distinct creative propositions rather than one aesthetic applied twice, and a single production’s cast can be dressed across both without the looks reading as a uniform.

The Ghesquière gown

Infiniti’s dress was the most intricate of the four. A strapless sweetheart neckline in deep burgundy-brown, dense copper gemstone embroidery laid over black organza, the line held close through the bodice and hips before releasing into a mermaid hem. The embroidery is the achievement: worked over a transparent ground, it has to carry its own structure, because organza offers nothing to hide behind.

The colour choice is the quieter decision. Burgundy-brown with copper is a palette that photographs with depth under carpet lighting, where black flattens and pure red blooms. She was styled by Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald, with loose waves, a bronze eye and a glossy nude lip left deliberately simple against the embroidery.

A house ambassador coming into her own

Chase Infiniti was named a Louis Vuitton house ambassador in December 2025, and Ghesquière was warm about why. He described watching her debut “with genuine delight”, called her “totally captivating in the roles she plays”, and said she “radiates an authenticity that is truly unforgettable”.

The Emmy nomination caps a season in which she has worn the house at the Oscars, the BAFTAs and the Golden Globes. That kind of continuity is what an ambassadorship is actually for. A one-night loan produces a photograph; a relationship produces a body of images that accumulate into an association, and by the end of this season the pairing reads as settled rather than arranged.

Dressing an ensemble

Katherine LaNasa, who won this same category in 2025, returned to the carpet in custom Louis Vuitton for her second consecutive nomination. Alongside Hatosy and Ball, also nominated, the house had a meaningful share of The Pitt’s presence on the night its series won.

Dressing an ensemble is a different exercise from dressing a star. The looks have to hold together in a group photograph and still work individually in the broadcast cutaway, which is the argument for handing the men to Pharrell and the women to Ghesquière rather than imposing a single hand across all four.

The value of the carpet

A nomination is the thing houses actually dress for. It guarantees the carpet, the step-and-repeat, the broadcast cutaway and months of image circulation afterwards, and it places the house inside the year’s most-discussed production rather than beside it. On a night when The Pitt collected the industry’s highest honour, Louis Vuitton was in almost every frame of its cast.

Ghesquière and Pharrell have built their respective sides of the house on long relationships rather than single appearances. The 78th Emmys was a clear demonstration of what that looks like when both are working at once.
