The cabin interface of a high performance electric motor car should feel as purposeful as the engineering beneath it. Lucid has taken this philosophy to heart with Air UX 3.0, a comprehensive software refinement that transforms how drivers interact with their vehicle’s digital systems. The update draws its visual language from the Gravity platform, creating a coherent design language across the brand’s ecosystem.
The new interface prioritises speed and clarity in equal measure. A redesigned Home screen now surfaces the controls drivers use most frequently, reducing the number of steps required to adjust climate, access media or modify vehicle settings. Quick Controls have been repositioned for intuitive access, allowing drivers to personalise their digital environment to match their habits and preferences. This is interface design in service of the driver’s actual needs, refined through real world usage.
Navigation has been reimagined with the electric vehicle’s unique demands in mind. The routing system now factors in preferred charging networks and adapter compatibility, allowing drivers to plan journeys that align with their charging ecosystem. The system calculates minimum range upon arrival at the destination, transforming route planning from a simple point to point exercise into an intelligent anticipation of the journey ahead. For those who depend on their vehicle’s battery management as part of their daily rhythm, this represents a meaningful refinement.
Expanded Connectivity and Security
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration now extends across the full width of the Cockpit Display’s right section, granting smartphone connectivity a more prominent and functional presence. Driver profiles have been enhanced with faster profile switching and improved linked key controls, allowing multiple users to personalise their experience instantly. Additional PIN protection layers add another dimension of security to these personalised settings.
The technical foundation beneath these improvements comes through Software Version 2.11.0, which is being delivered over the air to eligible Lucid Air vehicles. This wireless delivery approach means owners receive these enhancements without visiting a service centre, maintaining their vehicle’s technological currency as seamlessly as a digital device in their pocket.
