Ozwald Boateng has designed the Authenticity Bed with Savoir, the British mattress and bed maker, in a fusion that brings the precision of Savile Row tailoring into the sanctuary of sleep. The bed emerges as a sculptural form, its headboard the true expression of the collaboration: woven leather panels in ochre and deep indigo, their geometric patterning drawn from the language of traditional Kente cloth, edged in navy piping that speaks to Boateng’s tailoring vocabulary.

The headboard is architectural in its ambition, rising in a series of interconnected rectangular forms that catch light and shadow in turn. Beneath it sits a bedframe upholstered in charcoal, with a quilted white mattress and bedding in layered tones of teal and sage. The scale is commanding yet restful, a piece that commands a room without demanding attention.
Boateng’s understanding of the bed as a sanctuary, a place where we spend a third of our lives, shapes every decision. The bespoke nature of the piece means the Authenticity Bed can be commissioned to specification, from the leather weave to the proportions of the frame. It sits within a design philosophy that refuses to separate craft from beauty, where the hands that make it matter as much as the vision that conceived it. Savoir’s mastery in construction meets Boateng’s sculptural language in a bed conceived not as furniture, but as a considered statement on rest itself.
