Roger Dubuis has drawn the third chapter of its Excalibur Lady of the Lake collection from the symbolic hawthorn, a tree steeped in Arthurian legend as guardian of the threshold between worlds. The dial becomes a botanical sanctuary: white mother of pearl flowers rise above a centre paved with 147 diamonds, while pear cut red sapphires represent the hawthorn’s scarlet berries that burnish each autumn.

The 36 millimetre case arrives in pink gold, its contours faceted with the precision of a jeweller’s stone. A diamond set ring climbs toward the crown, catching light at every angle. The red silk strap anchors the piece with warmth, a visual echo of the berry bright sapphires set within.

Viviane, the Lady of the Lake, finds refuge beneath the hawthorn’s protective branches. In Arthurian tradition, the tree’s thorns mark the boundary between mortal and magical realms, a fitting metaphor for a watch that balances watchmaking rigour with ornamental grace. The hawthorn’s gentle flowers and strong fruit embody Viviane’s own character, and so the dial becomes a portrait of both protection and refinement.
