Rosy Abourous works by instinct rather than symmetry. Since establishing Rosa Maria in Beirut in 1998, her studio has pursued a deliberately imperfect aesthetic, building pieces that reject the sterile precision of conventional fine jewellery. Hand hammered and sculpted in her Beirut atelier, each collection reflects a layered cultural language: the delicate geometry of ethnic Bedouin filigree mingles with fragments of ancient heirlooms, while industrial silhouettes speak to something altogether contemporary and sculptural.

What distinguishes the house is its fearless approach to material collision. Sterling silver sits alongside solid gold, while diamonds, rutilated quartz and sapphires occupy the same composition without apology. A domed rectangle of brushed silver carries a precise row of black stones across its face. Elsewhere, a rectangular ring frames rutilated quartz within a filigree border of diamonds, its clouded green matrix creating movement within stillness. A circular form, equally intricate in its filigree surround, holds pale moonstone at its centre, its surface catching light like still water.

The jewellery is conceived for accumulation. Each piece responds to layering and stacking, designed to evolve over time as the wearer combines and recombines them. This is jewellery as a living collection rather than isolated statement.

Rosa Maria is now available in the DSM Jewellery Space on the ground floor of Dover Street Market London, and can also be acquired through the DSML e shop.
