Sacai’s eye for resourceful design finds fresh expression in the Holiday Zantan capsule, a collection built on the house’s instinct for transformation. By drawing from archival fabrics, designer Chitose Abe has created a series of pieces that feel both economical and generous, each one layered with colour and textile contrast in ways that reward close attention.

The collection centres on familiar silhouettes given new purpose. The Colotan, the crossbody pouch and the clochette bag return with the textural density of patchworked archival materials, their surfaces a patchwork of white, black and forest green, interspersed with floral and striped fragments that speak to the house’s prolific archives. A two piece travel pouch offers modular versatility, while a new dry bag with adjustable handle length makes a nod toward functionality without sacrificing Sacai’s sculptural sensibility. The golden hardware catches light against the restrained palette, a quiet luxury detail that anchors each piece.

The clochette, particularly, carries the collection’s philosophy: what might have been discarded becomes ornamental, the patchworked surface suggesting a kind of beautiful accumulation. A whimsical charm fashioned from archival scraps, with its own playful pom pom detail and brass hardware, completes the offering as a thoughtful gesture toward gift giving.

Sacai opens the collection to the world on 6 November at its own stores, through select global retailers and its online platform.
