Singer Vehicle Design has unleashed its first Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet Reimagined, a car conceived for an owner who demanded unfiltered driving pleasure with its top retracted against the sky. The Type 964 foundation wears carbon fibre bodywork finished in Black Metallic, tensioned across a widened stance that announces its sports focus before a wheel turns. At the rear sits a fixed wing; forward, a deeper front splitter and widened intakes channelled cold air toward the engine waiting beneath.

That engine is the heartbeat here: a 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat six with four valves per cylinder, air cooled heads and water cooled cylinders. Cosworth engineered it with variable valve timing as its calling card. A six speed manual transmission, operated through a raised shift lever whose linkages are deliberately exposed to the driver’s eye, routes power to the rear wheels alone. Behind the centre lock 18-inch wheels sit carbon ceramic brakes, originally developed through Singer’s own DLS services.

The interior speaks to uncompromising minimalism. Bone leather wraps the cabin, while tonal velvet corduroy adorns the seat centres. Door architecture has been stripped to its essentials, weight eliminated wherever sentiment allows. Yet modern utility remains: air conditioning, a nose lift for ground clearance, satellite navigation and CarPlay connectivity are all woven into the specification.

The innovation that sets this car apart lives overhead: a lightweight convertible folding roof using a novel Z pattern mechanism. The design maintains a clean silhouette whether raised or lowered, roof lines resolved with the precision Singer brings to every restoration. Each example is commissioned by its owner, personalised to their vision of what a reimagined 911 Cabriolet should be.
