As wellness hospitality moves towards a more integrated understanding of performance, SIRO is expanding its community with two figures from different corners of the performance world. Fitness entrepreneur Kayla Itsines and former Major League Baseball player Jason Heyward join the brand as ambassadors, bringing perspectives shaped by training, recovery, consistency and life beyond competition.

SIRO Hotels, Homes and Fitness Labs has appointed Kayla Itsines and Jason Heyward as the latest members of Team SIRO, strengthening the hospitality brand’s focus on performance and wellbeing.

The two ambassadors arrive from markedly different professional backgrounds. Itsines has built an international fitness business and community around accessible training and sustainable approaches to health, while Heyward spent 16 seasons in Major League Baseball, winning two World Series titles during his career. Their inclusion reflects SIRO’s broader interpretation of performance: one that extends beyond competitive sport to encompass everyday health, recovery and long-term wellbeing.

At the centre of SIRO’s philosophy are five interconnected areas: sleep, fitness, recovery, nutrition and mindfulness. Rather than treating these as separate elements, the brand has developed its hospitality concept around their relationship with one another, with its hotels, residences and Fitness Labs designed to support guests in maintaining those habits while travelling.

Celine Assimon, Chief Commercial Officer at Kerzner International, said the appointments represent complementary aspects of the SIRO philosophy. Itsines brings an emphasis on accessible and sustainable fitness, while Heyward’s sporting career offers a perspective shaped by the demands of elite performance, preparation and resilience.

The partnership with Itsines will place particular emphasis on women’s health, training and longevity. She will work with SIRO on wellness experiences and content spanning strength, recovery and sustainable habits, while her existing expertise in women’s fitness will inform programming developed for different stages of women’s lives.

Itsines is the founder and sole owner of SWEAT, the global women’s fitness platform she established after building a following through digital training programmes. Her approach has centred on making structured exercise more accessible, particularly for women who may be at different points in their fitness journeys.

That philosophy corresponds with SIRO’s emphasis on progression rather than a single definition of physical achievement. Itsines’ role is expected to extend beyond workouts, incorporating subjects such as sleep, nutrition, recovery and the creation of habits that can be maintained over time.

“For more than a decade, my mission has been to help women build healthier, stronger lives through movement,” Itsines said. She described her understanding of wellbeing as having developed beyond exercise alone to include recovery, sleep, nourishment and sustainable long-term habits.

Her contribution is therefore likely to be particularly relevant to SIRO’s ambition to broaden conversations around performance. The brand’s model is not exclusively directed towards professional athletes; instead, it positions physical and mental wellbeing as part of a wider approach to living well.

Heyward brings a different but complementary perspective. The former outfielder played 16 seasons in Major League Baseball and was part of two World Series-winning teams. His career required sustained physical preparation alongside the practical challenges of competing and travelling across a long professional season.

Heyward became familiar with SIRO through its existing properties in Dubai and Montenegro. The brand’s emphasis on fitness, recovery and wellbeing while travelling resonated with his own professional experience, eventually leading to the new ambassador relationship.

For athletes accustomed to moving between cities, hotels and demanding schedules, maintaining routines can be a challenge in itself. Heyward’s role with SIRO will explore that aspect of performance through original content and experiences focused on preparation, resilience, recovery and longevity.

He is also expected to participate in Champions Dinner conversations and leadership sessions, bringing insights from professional sport into the wider SIRO community.

“Throughout my career, fitness and recovery have been essential to helping me perform at my best, especially while travelling,” Heyward said. His association with SIRO, he added, was shaped by what he saw as the brand’s understanding of the practical needs of athletes and people seeking consistency while away from home.

The appointments arrive as SIRO continues to develop its international portfolio. The brand, part of Kerzner International, has positioned its hotels and residences around a performance-led hospitality model, with facilities and programming structured around its five core pillars.

Its expansion plans include SIRO Brickell in Miami, alongside announced destinations in Los Cabos, Riyadh and Tokyo. The growing network is intended to establish a consistent approach to wellness across different markets while allowing each destination to reflect its own setting.

SIRO’s ambassador network has also included Olympic swimming champion Adam Peaty and a partnership with AC Milan. The addition of Itsines and Heyward broadens that community beyond traditional elite sport, bringing together perspectives from fitness entrepreneurship, professional athletics and lifestyle.

The distinction is important to the brand’s positioning. Its model does not suggest that wellbeing belongs exclusively to athletes operating at the highest level. Instead, it takes some of the principles associated with elite performance — preparation, discipline, recovery and consistency — and considers how they might apply to a wider audience.

That idea is particularly evident in the collaboration with Itsines. Her work has historically focused on making fitness approachable, while SIRO’s hospitality model provides an environment in which exercise can sit alongside sleep, nutrition, recovery and mindfulness. Together, the partnership gives the brand an opportunity to explore women’s health through a broader lens than exercise alone.

Heyward, meanwhile, adds an athlete’s perspective on maintaining performance over a career defined by repetition and travel. His contribution can connect the practical realities of professional sport with SIRO’s ambition to make recovery and preparation part of the everyday travel experience.

The brand’s origins are tied to Kerzner International, the hospitality group behind destinations including Atlantis, One&Only and SIRO. SIRO was conceived as a dedicated performance and wellbeing hospitality concept, with its first property, SIRO One Za’abeel in Dubai, opening as part of the wider One Za’abeel development. Its model differs from conventional luxury hospitality by placing fitness and recovery infrastructure at the centre of the guest experience rather than treating wellness as an additional amenity.

As SIRO develops its global presence, the choice of ambassadors suggests that its definition of performance is intentionally broad. A professional athlete, a fitness entrepreneur, a frequent traveller and a guest seeking better everyday habits can all approach the same principles from different starting points.

That is perhaps the most interesting aspect of the new appointments. Itsines and Heyward are not being presented as interchangeable examples of athletic achievement. Their careers demonstrate two distinct routes towards sustained performance: one built through accessible fitness and community, the other through years of elite competition.

Together, they give SIRO a richer vocabulary for discussing what it means to feel prepared, restored and capable. As hospitality increasingly considers how travel affects the body and mind, the emphasis is shifting from simply providing a place to stay towards creating environments that support how people want to live. For SIRO, the arrival of two ambassadors from different sides of that conversation marks another step in developing that idea.
