Tohum Design has crafted two necklaces that speak through the language of contrast: Arbor Pura, strung with burnished gold spheres that catch and hold the light, and Pure Light, where those same gilt beads are punctuated by deep chocolate wood in a rhythm that feels almost meditative. The two pieces are designed to live together on the skin, layered beneath crisp linen or worn as singular gestures depending on the moment.
The Istanbul atelier has long worked with the vocabulary of natural materials and precious metals, threading narratives through the interplay of texture and finish. Here, the gold beads possess a hammered, organic surface that refuses to read as perfectly uniform, catching light at different angles with every movement. The wood rounds in Pure Light, their rich brown almost black in certain shadows, create a visual breathing space, a darkening that somehow makes the gold glow warmer by contrast.
What emerges is not decoration applied to the body, but rather a quiet conversation between materials that have their own histories. The necklaces sit close to the skin in that photograph, layered against cream linen, and the effect is one of restrained elegance: jewellery that knows its own value without requiring proclamation. Worn singly or together, they move beyond trend into the territory of pieces that feel like they have always been part of one’s life.
