W Taipei has composed three complete Thanksgiving menus designed to travel. Each arrives as a fully realised main course with its supporting cast: a charred king oyster mushroom salad and roasted pumpkin alongside seasonal root vegetables that arrive burnished and sweet.

The beef rack comes as substantial whole muscle, seared to a deep mahogany and sliced to reveal the pink interior. The roasted ham emerges with its skin crosshatched and caramelised to amber, the flesh within pale and tender. The roasted chicken, golden skinned and herb dressed, holds its shape with the kind of integrity that speaks to proper technique.

Each set carries the discipline of restaurant plating into the home: the proteins arrive on their own grounds, accompanied by sauces held in sealed glass jars that stay fresh and separate during transit. The roasted vegetables catch the light, each piece distinct and properly charred rather than crowded into uniformity.

The gesture here resists the usual takeaway shortcuts. These are not boxes of reheated components but rather main courses that have been thought through from plate to table. The vegetables emerge as neither afterthought nor filler, but as deliberate counterpoint to the protein at the meal’s centre. Corn still shows its caramelised yellow against the deeper bronze of root vegetables. Pumpkin pieces hold their shape, their edges caramelised in patches where they’ve caught heat.
