Ballantyne’s Florentine romance unfolds across autumn and winter

Ballantyne has woven a Florentine novella into its autumn and winter collection, letting the city’s dreamlike atmosphere become the stage for an unfolding romance. Chapter V, Il primo appuntamento, captures the moment love begins to bloom: two figures caught in the soft light of the Oltrarno, that quarter of artisans and hidden courtyards where time dissolves into ochre walls and cobbled streets.
