Their involvement brought Formula 1 experience into the final phase of development, particularly in assessing the car’s acceleration, high-speed behaviour and overall response. The testing was not simply ceremonial. With the prototype already developed, the drivers were able to push the car in demanding environments and provide an additional perspective on its dynamic performance.
The Nuvolari produces more than 1,000 PS in total system output, placing outright performance firmly at the centre of its engineering brief. Audi says the car combines this power with the company’s latest thinking on vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics and lightweight construction.
Its development also illustrates the growing relationship between Audi’s road-car engineering and its Formula 1 programme. The Audi Revolut F1 Team’s drivers became part of the Nuvolari story before the car’s public debut, bringing the demands and sensibilities of professional racing into a road-car project.
The timing of the unveiling added another layer to the story. On 4 June 2026, the Audi Nuvolari made its world premiere in Antibes in the South of France. It was then presented to a wider motorsport audience during the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Monaco, a setting particularly suited to a car conceived around high performance and technical ambition.
The choice of Monaco also connected the Nuvolari with one of Formula 1’s most demanding environments. The circuit’s narrow streets, elevation changes and limited margins for error make it a distinctive test of a high-performance car’s agility and control, even outside a conventional competition setting.
Alongside its engineering credentials, the Nuvolari introduces Audi’s latest design direction. It is the first series-production vehicle to embody the marque’s new design language, giving the project significance beyond its mechanical specification.
The design approach is deliberately restrained. Rather than relying on excessive visual complexity, the Nuvolari uses carefully controlled surfaces, proportions and aerodynamic elements to create its identity. The car’s name also carries historical resonance. Tazio Nuvolari was an Italian racing driver celebrated for his achievements during the early decades of European motor racing. By adopting his name, Audi connects the project with a tradition of speed and competition while placing that heritage within a distinctly modern technological context.

Audi itself traces its origins to August Horch’s automotive enterprise in Zwickau, Germany, established in 1909. The Audi name emerged shortly afterwards, and the four-ring emblem was introduced following the 1932 merger of Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer into Auto Union. Today, the brand remains closely associated with engineering, motorsport and its longstanding ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ philosophy, with the Nuvolari extending that heritage into a new era of performance development.
