Based on the Desmo250 MX motocross, the road legal enduro emerged from the Milan halls of EICMA with the understated purpose of democratising Ducati’s off road ambitions. The red and white machine sits on the dealer floor cloaked in workshop clarity: lightweight spoke rims dressed in knobbly rubber, USD forks feeding into the frame, a single cylinder heartbeat that carries the lineage of the celebrated Desmo name into genuinely gentle terrain.

The Desmo250 EDS is designed for enduro like power delivery, agility and low RPM tractability, with USD forks, rear Showa monoshock with long travel, high ground clearance and spoke rims paired with knobbly tube tyres. Powered by a 250cc single cylinder four valve motor with DOHC, the engine related to the MX produces 44bhp and 28.3Nm of torque, weighing 103kg unladen with a 970mm seat height.

The motorcycle follows the Desmo450 EDS, which was previewed at EICMA last year and marked Ducati’s entry into the modern enduro segment. Now the smaller sibling arrives to broaden the manufacturer’s reach into a segment where experience and heritage matter, yet affordability matters more. The Desmo250 EDS is expected to reach European dealerships in summer 2027.
