Zero 10 returns to Miami Beach with digital generation focus

Karen Archey, the lead curator behind Zero 10, has shaped a presentation that moves beyond the straightforward viewing of digital art into something more conceptually layered. The exhibition’s title, Generation, carries a deliberate duality: it refers both to the computational processes through which images, forms and experiences are produced in the digital realm, and to a new cohort of artists who are critically examining the systems and imaginaries that define our technological moment.

The second edition of this curatorial initiative brings together 19 projects from 21 galleries and platforms, each contributing their own perspective on how contemporary artistic practice engages with digital production and generative aesthetics. The breadth of this selection reflects a field that has matured considerably, moving beyond novelty into genuine artistic inquiry. Visitors will encounter work that questions, interrogates and reimagines what it means to create within computational environments, from algorithmic systems to digital imagery that challenges our understanding of authorship and originality.

What distinguishes Zero 10 is its refusal to treat digital art as a separate category cordoned off from the broader contemporary landscape. Instead, Archey’s curation positions these investigations as central to how artists across disciplines are working today, reckoning with the infrastructures and imaginaries that shape culture. The presentation offers a nuanced exploration of generative processes, not as technical spectacle but as a serious artistic language through which urgent cultural questions are being posed and explored.
