For its fourth couture show, Caroline’s Couture returned to the rooftop of the Hôtel Martinez during the 79th Cannes Film Festival with Miracles, a collection conceived by Caroline Scheufele, Co-President and Artistic Director of Chopard, as an ode to the miracle of nature.
The inspiration is an imagined Geneva garden of roses, lilies, peonies and wisteria. Its palette runs from bright reds and earthy burgundies through every shade of pink to vivid greens and the deep blues of Lake Geneva, rendered in laser cut botanical motifs, silk marquetry, guipure lace and hand embroidery, with crystals resting on the petals like morning dew.
True to the house philosophy of jewellery first, every gown is conceived around a jewel, its neckline left open for Chopard High Jewellery to shine. Liu Wen, Eva Herzigova and Adriana Lima were among those who walked the runway, staged beneath a circus inspired setting where colour, movement and imagination guided every step.
