A Dutch atelier that places the heavens upon the wrist, its miniature planetariums tracing the cosmos with poetic, peerless precision.
Founded by Christiaan van der Klaauw.
In 1974 he settled in Joure, Friesland, building clocks with astronomical complications, including a 1980 clock with a three dimensional moon phase.
His first wristwatch, the Satellite du Monde, arrived in 1996, and the Planetarium of 1999 housed the smallest mechanical planetarium in the world.
The Real Moon Joure displays a three dimensional moon phase so precise that it deviates by just one day every 11,000 years.
Van Cleef & Arpels chose the CVDK Planetarium module for its celebrated Midnight Planetarium and Lady Arpels Planetarium creations.
The planets set out on their orbits around a golden sun.
